Who we are

You must be 18 or over

Matchtopia is for adults only. We ask for your date of birth when you sign up and refuse any account below 18. If we find that an account belongs to someone under 18 we close it and delete the data. If you believe a minor is using Matchtopia, email support@unveil-dating.com.

What we collect

Account. Your email address, your password (stored only as a bcrypt hash, never in readable form), name, gender, date of birth, bio, occupation and education.

Photos you upload to your profile.

Location. Your approximate coordinates and country, used to show distance and to filter matches. We do not track your movements and we do not keep a location history.

Matching. Your preferences and interests, your Persona (personality) result, and your astrology birth data if you choose to provide it.

Naughty Mode, if you turn it on. The intimate preferences you select. This says something about your sex life, so the law treats it as a special category of data and we hold it only on your explicit consent. It never appears on your profile, it is never shared with anyone who is not a mutual match, and it only ever surfaces as signals you both selected — never the other person's full list.

Activity. Your matches and connections, chat messages, reports you file, feedback you send, sign-in sessions, achievements and quests, and your coin, shop and subscription history.

Technical. Device tokens so we can send you push notifications.

Why we use it, and on what legal basis

To run the service you signed up for — your account, matching, chat and purchases. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.

To keep people safe: reviewing reports, blocking accounts, preventing fraud and enforcing the 18+ rule. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a safe service, and our legal obligations.

Naughty Mode and astrology birth data. Legal basis: your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time in the app. Withdrawing deletes that data; it does not delete your account or your matches.

To meet legal and tax obligations, such as keeping purchase records.

Automated accounts and AI

Some accounts on Matchtopia are automated rather than real people. When you chat with one, the messages in that conversation are sent to our AI provider so it can reply. Conversations with real people are not sent to any AI provider.

We order potential matches automatically, using your preferences and a similarity score calculated from your profile. This decides the order in which you see people. It has no legal or similarly significant effect on you, and you can change your preferences at any time.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data.

We use these providers, who process data on our instructions: Google (sign-in, push notifications through Firebase, and Play billing), Apple (sign-in and App Store billing), Stripe (payments made on the web), Cerebras (AI replies from automated accounts), our email provider for verification and password resets, and our image processing service.

Other people on Matchtopia see what you put on your profile: your name, age, photos, bio, interests and approximate distance. They do not see your email address, your exact coordinates or your date of birth.

We may disclose data where the law requires it, or to protect someone from harm.

Our servers are in [HOSTING LOCATION]. Where a provider is outside the EEA, transfers rely on [TRANSFER MECHANISM, e.g. the EU Standard Contractual Clauses].

How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as your account is open.

When you delete your account we erase your profile, photos, messages, matches, preferences, attributes and login tokens. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

We keep purchase and tax records for [RETENTION PERIOD] because the law requires it, and a record of accounts closed for safety reasons for [RETENTION PERIOD] so that they cannot simply be recreated.

We delete inactive accounts after [RETENTION PERIOD].

Your rights

You can get a copy of your data at any time: Settings › Download my data gives you a machine-readable file of what we hold about you.

You can delete your account from Settings, which erases your data as described above.

You can also correct your data, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw any consent you have given. Email support@unveil-dating.com and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to your national data protection authority. In Norway that is Datatilsynet.

Security

Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes and never in readable form. Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. Access to production data is limited to the people who need it.

No service can promise perfect security. If a breach puts your rights at risk we will tell you and the relevant authority, as the law requires.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your data we will update this page and change the date at the top. Where a change is significant we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
